Treviso - Veneto - Italy

Here, history and tradition merge with technology and love.  Conti Riccati  located in the rolling hills outside of Castelfranco Veneto in the province of Treviso. The rich countryside, in the heart of the Veneto region, is birth place to some delicious and memorable wines. The Conte Riccati estate sits on 18 pristine hectares that have been passed down for generations, belonged to the Riccati family since the 14th Century.  The estates current owners, Valperto Azzoni, his wife and their 4 fun loving children are the direct descendants of the Riccati family and they have the same enthusiasm and respect for the land, that their ancestors had in the past.

Conti Riccati grows mostly Glera, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. They are known for their Prosecco.   The winemaker, Salvatore Lovo and the agronomist, Giovanni Pascarella take great pride in making the wines and tending the vineyards for the family.      tech sheets

Grape variety: Glera

Not all Proseccos are created equal. The right amount of sugar vs. acidity is most highly needed, Conti Riccati understands this. Fermentation starts in steel tanks, temperature controlled. The second fermentation is100 days in autoclave. Visually it is a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections. Fine aromas, elegant, with wafts of fall fruit- apple and pear along with citrus bursts. Always dry! Fresh, beautiful and persistence with a lingering sensation of grapefruit.

Pairings: Seafood appetizers, squid rice, and fish fry

Alcohol: 12%
